MEGA’s Shoe Box holiday give back provided 42 boxes to women in need during the 2020 holidays. Our partners MOVE EAST and ZONTA Halifax also donated another 50 boxes. We know that everyone who received one this season thanks our MEGA family, your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Black Lives Matter: “Managing My Blackness in Basketball”

In November and December 2020 MEGA hosted three sessions to look at the impact of recent and ongoing events both locally and internationally, as it pertains to the racial injustice and
inequality for Black and Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC). The sessions also focused on racism experience by players during their basketball careers. 17 young women participated hosted by facilitators Shauna Thomas and Rajeen Boudreau-Willis. We were also joined by LeeAnne Osei, head coach of the Saint FX women's Basketball team. The conversations were honest, open and engaging - thank you to our sponsor the Association of Black Social Worker of Nova Scotia for providing the resources to be able to host such an amazing event.
